... Let's go to the mall...

#centerkidz portrays teenagers hanging around in shopping malls in Berlin. It's about wasting time, meeting friends and checking out new fashion trends. In a world fixated on consumption the shopping mall is the only place where things happen. It is a refuge from everyday life and an imaginary gate to the greater world. I portrayed various young people in different shopping centers, such as Alexa, Eastgate Berlin, Mall of Berlin, Gesundbrunnen Center or the Sterncenter in Berlin and Potsdam and accompanied them while “hanging out”, “doing nothing” and “passing the time”.

A photographic documentation of young people, their look and impressions of the various shopping centers was created.

Part of the work is a magazine (36 pages, 2017)
